I think we all know that this week didn’t turn out as planned. And we deal with it and we pick up our lives and try to get back to normal. However, this week is FAR from normal! And I am actually pretty thankful for that.
Tomorrow begins my MUCH anticipated trip to the BlogHer Conference in New York. I debated and questioned and wondered if I should still go, but after praying and talking to my family about it, I decided it would be good for me. And I am SO glad. Today, I feel physically much better. Jerry is back to work and while we are taking it easy, it feels pretty darn close to normal. I am getting ready to go and enjoying the distraction. And as an added bonus, I was awarded dinner for 4 at the Hilton restaurant, Etrusca, by New York Family Magazine and Carol from NYCityMama.
Honestly, it could NOT have come at a better time. I was laying in bed yesterday when I got the email. I really felt like it was God’s little way of telling me it was OK to keep my plans for the trip. And not just that, it was as if He was personally making sure I knew it. So thank you again to New York Family and Carol. You really rocked my socks off!
Of course, all this excitement means leaving these boys. And I don’t know how I will do it. They have been AMAZING this week and I will miss them so much.
It will be good for us though. This stretching. I have never been away from Oscar for more than one night and never more than 30 minutes away. Jerry and I will each have some quality time to ourselves to relax and regroup. I am thankful that we could have so much time together this week, even though the circumstances pretty much sucked. We are a family and we are growing up together.
Hopefully, I won’t miss too much on the home front though. I will travel to NY armed with my trusty netbook in hand, ready to Skype at a moment’s notice.
I mean I can’t miss ALL the fun 😉
