Snow day shmoe day.

It has been an interesting year so far…this 2014. I don’t really think I mean to complain. It’s not that. It’s just that we really haven’t had a chance to get into a routine yet and it’s starting to mess with me. I am a routine junkie and my kids tend to be the same way. Due to various holidays, sicknesses and bad weather watches, I don’t think we have had one normal school-week yet this year.

While I built in a certain amount of time into my schedule for these types of things, the well is about to run dry. I need these kids to be in school. THEY need it. And here we are on a Tuesday night after one successful school day on Monday with today cancelled, tomorrow likely and Thursday possibly biting the dust too.

I might crack.

They never go on Friday anyway and I am freaking the freak out that we will be out another (almost) whole week. Before you start in with the celebrating my kids and enjoying the time business, let me tell you something. I have been enjoying my kids. SINCE DECEMBER. They are only in school 3 or 4 days a week depending on the child and for 3 hours at that. It is barely enough time to get some work done and drink a bit of coffee but you know what it is? My sanity.

So, I am begging for a normal week. BEGGING.

Yes, let’s enjoy the snow that is supposed to fall overnight. Let’s drink hot cocoa and watch movies and make brownies. But I can only take so much more of this. I am only one woman. And this mama needs some space, y’all.

Who’s ready for spring?

GIRL I could've written this. It was our first full week back this week and we're looking at TONS more white stuff soon. And guess whose kids got sick? Two days off for two different kids. UGH. Spring, please be warm.

Amen to that. It really does take a village, right? A village *terrified* of snow.

Oh, I feel ya. A lot. School was delayed until 10 yesterday because of dangerous wind chill temps and then delayed again today.

I have to check Ollie out of pre-k at 2. That's not a lot of time to do much of anything. Not when the work you have to get done requires research and lots of prep before you can even get started on the actual work.

Basically I have enough time to get most of the prep work done and get into the very beginning of the meat of the work and then I have to stop. Add to that Cara is out sick today and I'm starting to wonder where in the world right now is it 5pm and can I act like I live there? :D
