What a pain! Seriously. Oscar doesn’t yet have his first tooth, but I am betting he will be on the early side of the teething window. He has been drooling excessively for about a month and a half and chews on everything in site. In fact, today I noticed a rash under his chin from all the drool -something that I have read is commonplace in a teething baby. Add to that the fussiness, extra night wakings (we had 4 last night) and possible bulging under his gums (I still can’t get a good look) and I think we have a tooth coming in. It could be a while, but I honestly hope not. I know I will be sad in a way when that first tooth pops up, but Oscar will feel much better so I’ll just have to get over the nostalgia of my cute little gummy-smile.
I don’t mind the chewing and the drool, it’s just when he seems in such pain, it drives me crazy that I can’t help him. So far I give him an ice cube wrapped up in a wet dishtowel when he is hurting and he likes that. I just wish we could get this show on the road!
