This week I am going to take some time to document our daily life. It’s a fun idea that took off when my friend Melissa began it on her blog a few years ago and every year I want to participate. Let’s just say my intentions were pure but my results were spotty at best. So here I am again and I really want to do this!

Of course, in true Andrea fashion, I completely forgot that yesterday was Day 1 and I didn’t take any pictures! Ah well, at least I am still me. So my apologies for the lack of Monday images. I’ve already taken like 15 photos today to make up for it. Baby steps people.

We started our day with the typical post-weekend back to reality stuff, got lunches made and kids ready for school. Jerry takes Oscar to Kindergarten while I drop Calvin at Preschool. Then it’s time for work!

I settled into my current desk at the kitchen table to start working on BabyCenter stuff. Come to think of it, yesterday wasn’t very photogenic as I was on calls for much of the day.

I picked Calvin up at 12:15 and chatted with the Preschool director for a bit. She gave Calvin a lollipop and a photo of him from her wall. We have so loved our preschool and even though he has a couple years left there, I am already sad at the thought of moving on!

We had our lunch and I got Calvin settled for his nap just in time to hop on my weekly team call for work. Time typically flies during the nap hours. Before I knew it, I needed to get Calvin up to go pick up Oscar. We got him from school and went to the nearby park for a few minutes before heading home.

I made pizza for dinner and as we sat around the table we asked about everyone’s day. We always eat together, but I am trying to get in the habit of having actual conversations with the kids during this time. Oscar is not into it at all. He gets chatty in the car but for some reason talking at the table is “SOOOOO boring.” Nothing a little after-dinner dance party can’t cure!

Bedtime is pretty straightforward these days. The boys hang with Jerry for a little bit, usually a story or a short video and then we get them settled in. After they went to bed, I chatted with some friends while Jerry watched football and Monday was finally over!

I am looking forward to a great week! If you want to join in the fun, head over to Team Whitaker and link up!

I’m so glad you came over from Melissa’s neck of the woods. She was so gracious to allow me to carry the torch!
