One of my favorite things to see is a city skyline. Of course the Raleigh skyline is ever changing and it’s especially fun to keep an eye on it. This morning, I was coming back into town from a baby shower just south of Raleigh and I realized that I hadn’t seen it from that angle in quite some time. The green lights on the BB&T building seemed extra bright, and you almost couldn’t see the construction cranes. I’ve fallen in love. Commitment will do that. When I stayed put 2 years ago, it was like someone opened my eyes to a brand new city. I’d been here for 8 years already, but it was different now. Then I bought my house and became even more settled. Now, with a husband and significant roots in the community, my commitment has turned into genuine love for the city.
Today I went Christmas shopping. I was all over the place, but it didn’t feel like it. Making my way through the city was really like going into different rooms in my house. All mine, but with different purpose. Some of it was clean and some of it was a mess, but I knew how to get around and find what I needed.
Last night we ordered in from Capital Creations. Try the Mediterranean. The artichokes are delicious! We also came across a local blog called The Raleigh Philosophical Society. Check em out and happy Raleigh-ing!
