Dinner and a movie

Jerry and I try to go on dates when we can. However, we are pretty forgetful when it comes to planning a sitter ahead of time so it doesn’t happen as often as we like. And when we do go out, we tend to just go to dinner or something that only takes an hour or two. So last weekend when we went out for dinner AND a movie, it felt like a mini vacation!

Oh my gosh y’all. It was so great to be out of the house for like 5 HOURS alone together. I mean seriously. We need to do this more. A lot more.

We started the evening downtown browsing a local shop and went over to have dinner at Gravy, a local Italian restaurant. Our dinner was delicious. We both started with the Shitake Mushroom soup (which while delicious, strangely reminded me of the chicken gravy at a cafeteria in Florida I used to eat at with my grandparents – weird).

We split the yummy Caprese appetizer and devoured a couple of garlic knots. Jerry got an amazing traditional Italian spaghetti-like dish called the Family dinner which came with 3 kinds of meat including sausage that is made in-house. I went with the shrimp and angel hair. We were both full but not completely stuffed so it was great!

We then went to see The Avengers! I have been highly anticipating this movie and I feel like we were the only ones left to see it. But the theater was packed! I just love the Marvel series and all of the movies leading up to it have been so much fun! Of course, The Avengers didn’t disappoint and we had a great time. I love it when everyone jumps at the same time 🙂

Of course we couldn’t pass up this display without snapping a pic. Don’t we just fit right in?

After the movie, we decided to get ice cream. Jerry likes the Chick-fil-a shakes, while I prefer Ben & Jerry’s so we got both! I mean it’s date night y’all! Time to party.

Seriously, we needed this so much. It was so relaxing to really take our time and just enjoy each other and truly have FUN.

What did you do on your last date?

How fun! I loved The Avengers, so I'm glad you enjoyed it too. Your Dark Shadows picture is too hilarious. Love how you sucked your cheeks in to be like Johnny! :)

Sounds like a great date night! I honestly can't remember what we did on our last date, but I know it wasn't too long ago...maybe it was an IMAX movie?
