Tomorrow is the official half way point – 20 weeks!!! It’s getting more exciting by the day it seems. And I am definitely entering the nesting phase. I suppose it helps that I have all day to think about what I can do in the 2 or 3 hours of energetic time I have when I get home from work, but whatever, I am being productive!
Jerry and I moved our living room furniture around last night. It’s something we have been planning to do for when the baby comes, but maybe not this soon. Well, on Monday when Community Group started back up at our house, it was clear that we needed a new arrangement! I am satisfied with the setup, but now more than ever we need a rug! So that will be something to hunt for…and I am going to have to bite the bullet and go for the 8×10. Or at least 6×9. Gulp. Rugs are expensive! But I am of the mindset that if we don’t do things before the baby gets here, we will never do them. At least not until he is in school. So off we go.
I also cleared a lot out of the spare room and got things manageable in there so we can start moving more office stuff out of the nursery. Right now it’s half office/half nursery so it makes it hard to do anything in either room design wise. But I am getting ahead of myself. I emptied out my cedar chest of it’s MORE THAN 100 VHS Tapes and filled it with afghans and blankets that had been previously under the bed or strewn about. I sleep better knowing it is being used for its intended purpose ;-). The tapes are on the bed for us to sort through and get rid of. I am pretty sure that since we don’t even own a VCR anymore, we don’t have much use for my episodes of Dawson’s Creek, or Jerry’s entire numbered seasons of the Simpsons, both recorded from network television. So that will be cleansing.
Good things are happening. Every time we change the house around we get rid of a few more things we were clinging to unnecessarily. I always feel lighter afterward. And even though we are bringing more (and more and more) baby stuff into the house, it is slowly but surely beginning to have a place of its own, so it fits. We have been super blessed by our families giving and loaning us baby stuff, so I feel very supported and like we will be ready! I feel so blessed that our baby will come into a world full of people who already love him. It’s the best gift I could ask for!
