It’s like when you have a cut and you put a band-aid over it. You want it to heal so badly so you check it and watch for every little detail or change. Sometimes you pull the band-aid off and it breaks open the wound again. It was too soon. Sometimes you pull it off and think you have healed and leave it off, but the wound becomes painful again. But then there are the times that you try to stop picking and allow the healing process to take place. It hurts, then it itches, and then one day, you remember that you haven’t checked under that band-aid for a while. And when you finally do, you realize that you have healed and you didn’t even know when it happened. And then somehow, what you have is a fresh start.
