Last week we had Oscar’s hair cut for the very first time. It was a big deal to us and we wanted it to be special. Also, knowing that our son absolutely hates to be messed with (it takes two of us to cut his nails) we saw the potential for disaster.
We considered trying to cut it ourselves, but with his curls and wiggly nature we knew that wouldn’t be a good idea. So we decided to consult Google to find the perfect place for this milestone to take place.
Enter JJ’s Kids Cuts! JJ’s is tucked into the North Ridge Shopping Center behind Michael Dean’s Restaurant in Raleigh. From the outside, you might not think much of it, but when you walk in the door you are greeted with something for kids of all ages! There is a climbing center on the left complete with a tunnel AND a slide for the little ones. And for the older kids, to the right, there are video gaming stations set up – perfect for parents with several kids so no one gets bored while waiting!
They have regular hair cutting chairs, but to make the experience truly special (not to mention less frightening) for the little ones, there are several vehicle chairs to choose from. Oscar sat in the Fire Engine and loved it! Not only that, but each chair has a TV located directly in front of the seat and they offer a selection of children’s favorites to watch.
I was completely impressed with my experience. Highly recommend!
