Our pretty bedroom…the final piece of the puzzle

After 2.5 years in this house, we have finally finished getting our bedroom in order. I’ve watched enough HGTV to know that the bedroom is the most important room to decorate yet probably the most often neglected. We definitely fell into the trap when we moved in to this home. Every room needed something. Everything needed paint. Some rooms needed hardware or actual construction work. The basement was un-finished when we first moved in so getting that finished was top priority. Then we had the other public spaces like our (awful) kitchen to worry about.

Last year I painted about half of the bedroom one day in a fit of insanity and rage. I had ENOUGH! And then it sat like THAT for another 6+ months. Ugh.

Today, I am happy to say that the room is done! The walls are painted and most of the artwork has been hung. I feel at peace in my room.

Finally.

In some ways, we feel like we just moved in again. I guess it’s the smell of paint and the way we actually take the time to put things in their place to keep it looking pretty. Whatever it is, I’ll take it!

It’s simple. It’s clutter-free and I love it.

It feels great to have finally finished our room! Have you worked on any projects lately?

We have lived in our house for over six years and still don’t have anything hung on our bedroom walls.

I still have one blank wall but I can live with that. It was the half-painted walls that did me in.
