Saturday marked the 4th Annual Raleigh Wide Open in this Capital City and we decided to take the whole family to check it out! RWO this year celebrated the opening of the new City Plaza at the end of Fayetteville Street, which for those of you who aren’t here is a sort of main street in downtown. I’m particularly excited about it because for the first time, we’ll have an outdoor ice skating rink for a couple months this winter! Yay!
But back to Saturday. We were waffling on whether or not to go because the weather was iffy. But we found out my parents would be there and since we skipped the fair, we thought this would be just the right size for us to get our crowd on. So we went.
It was great! Oscar had a lot of fun and we enjoyed listening to a marching band and a few other musicians while browsing the local vendor tents and signing up for raffles. I had a great time also and am just so happy that our little city is doing so much to encourage community!
We even brought Krusty and Jerry got lots of compliments on what a good (and good looking) dog he is. I can’t imagine it having gone better! This ALMOST makes me forgive the lack of a kid friendly coffee shops in Raleigh. Almost.
