Whew, what a week ya’ll! We have had an awesome and fulfilling week of family time but I have to say, I am exhausted! Jerry took the week off last week and we had a LONG list of home projects to do. The good news is, we knocked them out! Ok, Jerry did most of the work, but I definitely did my fair share and baby wrangled as well. In addition to hosting Thanksgiving dinner (wherein I cooked my very first turkey), we did the following:
- Finish painting the fireplace white
- Finish painting all wood doors and trim
- Prime and paint the music room
- Add new blinds over kitchen sink
- Put up Christmas tree (yay!)
- Rake the yard (ongoing)
All those things! We also took Oscar to see The Muppets and visited the newly re-opened historical Pullen Park. Oh yeah and there were visits with family members and Oscar got to stay at Grammy and Grampa’s house all by himself!
I know you may not be all that interested in these details, but I just had to write them down. We have been busy! Of course, now we are in FULL ON Christmas mode and I couldn’t be happier. It was the perfect Thanksgiving and I really had a great time focusing on my time to reflect. But now, it’s time for cinnamon and apples and eggnog and cheer!
We put up our little tree last night and I have lights to put outside and more decorations to go up. But for now, I feel full and happy. Today, I plan to rest and get ready for the week ahead. How about you?
