Last night was the memorial service for Lauren Redman. I had met her a few times, but was closer with our mutual friends. According to the news reports, there were between 300-400 people in attendance. It was a beautiful service and everyone was in tears at some point. About 2 hours before the service, the piano player backed out leaving my friend Jodi in the lurch for a musician to play Here Comes the Sun by George Harrison. She asked me if I would play it on the guitar. I had to try. So I went home and learned it as best I could and was on my way. I was really nervous but so honored that I could help out in this way. Watching Jodi and how strong she has been this past week has been an inspiration to me. I can’t imagine how she did it.
