So this week brought on the end of the month blues for me. Not to be confused with bleus, which of course would rock with buffalo chicken.
No, this week was chock full of work and bad food. The other paralegal is out this week, which really doesn’t affect my story, it just makes me sound like more of a martyr. But I digress. Truly, I was so busy this week I don’t even remember it. I do know that on Wednesday I got to the office at 7:30am and didn’t leave the building until 9pm. THAT, was a long day. I have only taken one lunch break this week and worked 9-10hour days for the rest of the week. It’s not a big deal really, once you decide that you have no other reason to live than to check your voice-mail one more time. Pete won the voice-mail war today with 35total for the day…I slacked off with 27.
I did however get an awesome surprise today, when one of my clients brought me a goody bag full of godiva chocolate, wine, cheese straws, pecans and peppermints as a thank you. If anyone has anyone to thank, this is an AWESOME gift. It made my whole day.
Now to the bad food. With the exception of Baby Moon last night (thanks lovah) my week has been a drive-thru nightmare. I feel like the guy in supersize me. I can’t take it anymore! I need a vegetable!! Even as I type I am drinking a diet coke out of a paper cup. When does it end?? I thought the great styrofoam crackdown of the 90’s was the end of it all. But no, we still suffer from the iron fist of the bean burrito (no onion, add sour cream). And when I say suffer. I mean it.
Moving on, I would like to comment on the end of an era. And you know what I am talking about. No, not American Idol ( I still can’t believe Taylor won)…I am talking about ALIAS. You can all breath a little easier now that my obsession has taken its leave. We had a good run.
Jerry is going out of town for a week on Sunday. I don’t know what it will be like, not seeing eachother for 7days in a row. I imagine we won’t die or anything, but damn, I’m gonna miss him! At least I will have the 4 walls of my office to keep me company. I probably wouldn’t have seen him much anyway. Oh yeah, next week will be just like this one, starting with working on Memorial Day….wait a minute….didn’t my last boss make me work last year?? What the???
Time to open the wine.
