Before I had Oscar, I remember hearing people say, I feel like my kid started (eating, sleeping, jumping, walking) overnight. I also remember thinking, yeah right why don’t you start paying more attention to your kid?
Another example of my forgiving spirit and gracious attitude toward others.
So, of course the ultimate payback for a non-parent who knows it all is of course to have a child and see what happens. In our case, it’s talking. Oscar has always been a very good communicator and has said many “words” from a very young age. Of course Jerry and I are the only ones who could understand them, but they were consistent so that is what counts.
And now it seems that my child has started talking overnight.
In the past week he has started replacing his normal sounds with actual real words.
Here is a fun albeit incomplete list:
All Done: Was “ahh-AHH”. Is now “Alllll DUNNNN”
Other One: Was “Ahh-ooo-ooo”. Is now “usha ONE”
Paci: Was “Wah Wah”. Is now “Waci”
Banana: Was “wah wah WAH?” Is now “NANuhhh?” Still a question 🙂
Right Now: Hasn’t said it until this week and now says it perfectly.
Just who does he think he is?!
