Homemade Strawberry Sauce with Cornstarch
Delicious strawberry sauce made with cornstarch, sugar, and of course fresh strawberries! You will want this topping on everything!

Ingredients
2
cups
fresh strawberries
cleaned, divided
1
cup
granulated sugar
3
tablespoons
cornstarch
¾
cup
water
Red food coloring
optional
Instructions
Clean and chop 2 cups strawberries and divide in half
Mash one cup strawberries and set the other up aside
In a medium saucepan, stir together the sugar and cornstarch
Stir in water and mashed berries
Bring to boil, stirring constantly
Stir in food coloring, if desired
Cook and stir 3 minutes or until thick
Remove from heat, stir in the other cup of diced strawberries
Transfer to bowl, let cool for 10-15 minutes
Add to jar or container with lid
Serve immediately or store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in airtight sealed container
