Sometimes I feel like things CAN’T possibly be as good as they are. And yet, somehow, they just keep getting better. I know I have been through the hard times, and I am sure I will have more. But to say that this has been the best year ever is definitely an understatement. I have grown up a lot this year. I am in love with my best friend and starting a new life in a new home. I am so thankful for my job and my family and my friends. I am truly blessed.
Today the termite inspector came out to the house. No termites, yay! One step closer. Also, my home inspector did everything he could without the electricity, and will come back tomorrow for that. So far so good, no major stuff needs repair. So awesome! I dropped the paint off today so the walls are gonna look very different the next time I see them! AND, my lender called today and my loan passed the underwriting proccess and is being sent to the City for their part in it. It just really seems to be coming together beautifully. Thank God!
I met the most wonderful person at Wal-Mart last night. I don’t even know his name but he was an older gentleman who mixed my paint and he had the most gentle demeanor. It was refreshing really, and honestly, made me forget that I hate Wal-Mart. I felt very welcome and we talked about the house and what rooms I am painting, and he wished me a Merry Christmas. I don’t know, maybe it’s the season, but it was a really surprisingly pleasant experience.
After that, Jerry and I went to Capital City Grocery to do some shopping and spoke with the owner a bit about a drawing they had on Sunday. We weren’t able to get there on Sunday and I showed him my ticket and he went to the back and returned with a free bottle of red wine! We finally watched ‘Thank You for Smoking’, which I thoroughly enjoyed. And even though we had a bit of an adventure with the stove at Jerry’s place, it ended up being a lovely evening. Tis the season 🙂
