¾cupunsalted butterabout 1 ½ stick, sliced
Fresh chopped parsley or green onions for garnishoptional to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F and lightly grease a 9x13 casserole dish with cooking spray. Set aside.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once heated, add the ground beef, onions, and garlic. Break the ground beef apart into smaller crumbles. Saute until the beef is cooked through and the onions start to soften, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease/fat if needed.
In the prepared casserole dish, add the ground beef, uncooked rice, French onion soup, beef broth, and water. Stir to combine.
Top with slices of butter. Cover with foil and bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through.
Once it has finished baking, fluff the rice with a fork and then garnish with fresh chopped parsley or green onions. Enjoy!
Notes
Allow the food to cool completely before storing. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can reheat in the microwave or bake in the oven at 350 F until heated through.
