Make the most of a Fun Summer While Working from Home

I’m a work at home mom and while that definitely comes with its benefits, it’s not all sunshine and flowers. For instance, summer happens. This means I no longer have any daytime hours to myself, with the exception of a few scheduled camps and VBS. I love a fun summer as much as the next mom, but with a job to work around, I have to make the most of the fun days.
I want to spend time with my family and enjoy summer, but I also have commitments. For me, summer is a melting pot of emotions. Some days are all about fun and other days have me stressed out from morning til night.
We’ve been able to have some really great moments so while I know it’s not always like this, I love that I captured a few special memories to remind me that not every day is stressful.
Making the Most of Fun Summer Memories
Summer camp, a quick day trip to the beach or a work commitment that doubles as a mini-vacation are all ways to make the most of the small moments.
These moments were just snapshots from my (not always) fun summer. A quick weekend at the beach, a whirlwind 24-hour trip to film a video for the Disney Parks Moms Panel, a morning before camp and the finish of my first half-marathon of 2015 (and maybe the only one).
It may look like we’re just playing all the time. But these photos make up maybe 5 days of our summer so far. That said, they were 5 incredible days and I want to enjoy those memories!
I am so long overdue for a beach visit. We went to Ocean City last year but it took SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long. Traffic was horrendous. We spent so long on the road (just from DC, mind you) that we looked into getting a room. None was available. Ugh. Yet, I’m still looking forward to this year.
I so need to book a trip to the beach. It’s been forever since we went and we miss it so much!
Looks like summer is going well, but I know what you mean about the balance of things. Congrats on your half marathon!
Thank you! I’m eyeing one for the fall but we’ll see. Not ready to commit just yet!
