About Mulan
The highly anticipated live-action Mulan is almost ready to open and I am so excited to hear how well it’s being received already. This is one remake that I am here for. The trailers have been incredible.
Official: Acclaimed filmmaker Niki Caro brings the epic tale of China’s legendary warrior to life in Disney’s “Mulan,” in which a fearless young woman risks everything out of love for her family and her country to become one of the greatest warriors China has ever known. When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honored warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father.

Live-Action Mulan First Reactions
I usually try not to read too many reactions, but I am just too excited for Mulan. Plus, some of my blogging friends were at the premiere so I had to know what they thought!
If you are looking for info before heading to the theaters, here are a few reactions you may be interested in.
#Mulan is one of the best live-action adaptation of a Disney animated classic. It honors the 1998 film and the ballad by modernizing themes of female empowerment and iconic scenes, while also standing out w/ great cinematography & battle sequences are reminiscent of Wuxia epics. pic.twitter.com/2DUjzX1M1h

Is #Mulan the first great superhero movie of 2020? It sure feels like it. She soars over rooftops, flies across walls, shoots arrows, and is just a general badass. The film serves as a reminder to be true to yourself. Little girls are going to look up to @yifei_cc pic.twitter.com/cVVFMb07UP

#Mulan is about a warrior. And that warrior is a legend. Thank you, from all the female warriors that needed this kick-A movie. It’s different from the animated version, and I’ll be proud to show my daughters this film!

In #Mulan (2020) both ballad & animated film are honored by the incredible ensemble of actors & talent behind the camera. Niki Caro leads the charge in a gorgeous cinematic epic filled with heart & a new heroine rises in Liu Yifei. Fans of the romantic subplot won’t be let down! pic.twitter.com/ekOOzVoY1E

Wow. Just wow. Disney’s Mulan is not only visually stunning, it is absolutely magical. I laughed, I cried, and I loved every second of it. I cannot wait to take my girls to see it. Talk about girl power. WOW. #Mulan

I have been searching everywhere to find out whether this movie is suitable to watch (not much blood and no gore). The ratings are always very vague, the fact that it is PG-13 doesn’t reassure me at all. I loved the animated version and would love to see the new one but I can’t until I know what’s in it.
I’m seeing a really positive consensus coming from the first screenings so I’m hopeful for this one! I will update here as soon as I screen it.
