Why I love this Recipe

Chocolate pretzel sandwiches are great because they are easy to make and have the best of both salty and sweet worlds.

Plus, I always love a snack kids can get involved with and this one is a winner.

Make it a party with some Valentine’s Day snack mix and a cute Valentine Gnome cookie or some strawberry fluff.

Ingredients

All you need are a few simple ingredients for this one.

The best part is they are non-perishable so you can stock up for whenever the mood strikes. Below is a visual walk through of this recipe.

For ingredient amounts and instructions, please see the recipe card below.

You will need:

  • Butter Snap Pretzels – get the square shape if you can find them. They make the sandwich process smooth and simple.
  • Hershey’s Hugs chocolates – Use whichever flavor you prefer
  • Pink and Red melting chocolate – I find the Meltables from Sweet Tooth Fairy to be really easy to use.
  • Valentine’s Day Sprinklesmini heart sprinkles are used in this recipe but feel free to pick your favorite

How to Make Dipped Pretzel Sandwiches

Preheat your oven to 350°F an layer a piece of parchment paper to a baking sheet.

Arrange 70 butter snap pretzels onto the parchment paper.

arrange pretzels on parchment paper lined pan

Add a Hershey’s hug on top of each pretzel.

place hugs chocolate on each pretzel

Place cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for 2 minutes, just until the candies start to look shiny.

Then, remove from oven and gently press a 2nd butter snap pretzel on top of each Hersheys hug to make a sandwich.

press pretzel on top of melted chocolate

Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.

Once the candies have set, add red candy melts to a microwave safe bowl, and melt according to package directions. I usually heat for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between each session.

melt candy for dipping in bowl

Repeat for the pink candy melts in a separate bowl.

Dip each cooled pretzel sandwich into the pink or red melted chocolate, and sprinkle with heart sprinkles as you go so they will stick to the chocolate before it sets.
