Here’s why a Wilmington, NC weekend getaway should be on your must try list! With our without kids, Wilmington has everything you need.

Last weekend, Jerry and I had a wonderful time at the beach! We rolled in on Friday night and went to dinner downtown.

We ate at a Thai place and ordered Wonton soup to start.

We decided to share a pot (not knowing exactly what that was) but it came in the coolest container!

Basically, the soup was in a trough around the middle part and there was a flame inside that kept it warm! Too fun!

Saturday we slept in and then went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. On the way back we stopped at CVS, which I discovered is “Jerry’s Target”.

This simply means that he is in absolute heaven at CVS. Who knew??

We picked up a few things and headed back to the Wilmington KOA where we enjoyed the wonderful pool and sunshine! AND I finally found something I can beat Jerry at; swimming!

I had no idea and I am sure it wouldn’t take long for him to best me if he really tried. But it was fun to win. 🙂

Later, we loaded up the bikes into the van and drove down to the beach and parked. We rode up and down the beach, people watching and taking pictures. It was great!

We had yummy seafood at Oceanic Restaurant and walked around watching the fishermen.

Saturday night we walked around a mall, had dinner and went to see Zohan, which was ridiculously, irreverently, and politically hilarious in case you were wondering. Points for the hummus humor!

We came home on Sunday feeling refreshed and ready to go! I highly recommend the mini-vacay to all 🙂
