Why eat dry cakes and cookies when you can have a deliciously decadent strawberry icing in five minutes?
This glaze recipe is light and fresh while bringing a delightful flavor to top the warm treats coming out of your oven.
To make this glaze, you need a few simple ingredients, a bowl and a whisk.
Easy Strawberry Icing Glaze Ingredients
For this glaze, I’m using strawberry jam. You could also use crushed freeze dried strawberries, but I didn’t have any.
Ingredients you will need:
- Powdered Sugar
- Lemon Juice
- Half & Half
- Strawberry jam or jelly
When working with powdered sugar, I find that it’s easier to combine all wet ingredients first and start adding the sugar in a little at a time.
You can sift it if you want, but be sure to whisk out any lumps if they occur. I skipped the sifting this time and didn’t have an issue with lumps.
This strawberry glaze is the perfect topping for strawberry cake or scones or even pound cake! The lemon juice keeps it light and the strawberry jam is perfectly sweet.
I hope you love it!

Hello! Does the glaze harden at all? Looks delicious Thanks!
What is half and half?????
Hi Mary! Here in the USA we have half and half, which is half milk and half full fat heavy cream. You can use whatever you have access to. A heavier cream will result in a thicker glaze. Hope this helps!
This came in handy for last minute cakes for Christmas dinner ? life saver for sure. Thanks happy holidays
I’m so happy to hear that! Hope you had a wonderful holiday.
