How to Make Ribs in the Oven
There is more than one way to cook ribs in the oven. You can bake them of course, which will take a few hours.
What I like to do is boil them in water and simmer my sauce while they boil. Then finish under the broiler.
Before they go into the pot, be sure to remove the membrane from the bone side of the meat.
Then, cut the ribs apart and add them to the boiling water.
Add them to a baking dish, smother with sauce and broil for 15-20 minutes, flipping them over about half-way through.
Boiling tenderizes the meat and then the broiler finish adds a sticky glaze that is finger-licking good!
Sides to Eat with Oven-Broiled Ribs
If you ask me, you can’t go wrong with a delicious side of loaded mashed potatoes or potato salad.
If you want something a little different, try one of these tasty alternatives to potato salad. So good!
Don’t forget dessert! Pop this easy peach dump cake in the oven when your ribs are done and it will be warm and ready when you are!

You don’t specify how long to boil the ribs? I would think that’s important information.
Hi Colin, you can find the detailed instructions in the recipe card. Boiling times will vary based on the type of meat you use.
These are fall of the bone tender perfection! Thanks!
Making ribs in the oven is SO Easy! I like having all the control over the cooking process, sometimes grilling gets too hot!
Try putting the ribs in a slow cooker on low for about 8 hours. I do that with pork ribs, after doing a dry rub of salt, pepper, onion powder, and Lawrey's seasoning salt. About an hour before eating I cover them with Bullseye barbeque sauce. Yum!
Of course, I live in Georgia where we don't eat beef barbeque and love of BBQ is something between an obsession and a religion!
