Butterscotch Marshmallow Squares – Perfect for the 4th of July

These butterscotch marshmallow squares are rich and fudgy, made with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter, then loaded with fluffy mini marshmallows and colorful M&M’s. No baking required, just a handful of ingredients and about 15 minutes of effort.

How to Make It

This recipe couldn’t be easier. Simply melt, mix, and refrigerate! To get started,
line a 9×13 baking pan with non-stick foil, or line it with aluminum foil, then butter the pan.

Step 1: Place chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter in a large, microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each, until completely melted and smooth.

Step 2: Add mini-marshmallows and stir until evenly coated.

Step 3: Spread the mixture into your prepared pan.

Step 4: Sprinkle with colorful candies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Remove from the refrigerator once the mixture has hardened, then let it sit for about 10 minutes before cutting. Slice into 24 butterscotch marshmallow squares and enjoy.

Ingredients 

  • 12 oz Package Chocolate Chips
  • 11 oz Package Butterscotch Chips
  • 1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 10 oz Bag Mini Marshmallows
  • 1 Cup Colorful candies, red, white, and blue

Instructions 

  • Line a 9×13 baking pan with non-stick foil or line with aluminum foil and then butter the pan.
  • Place chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and peanut butter in a large, microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each, until completely melted and smooth.
    OR
    Stove top- Place chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and peanut butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Stirring frequently heat until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
  • Add in marshmallow and stir until the marshmallows are evenly coated.
  • Spread the mixture into your prepared pan.
  • Sprinkle with candies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Remove from refrigerator and allow to sit for about 10 minutes before cutting. Cut into 24 squares and serve.
