Only six simple ingredients stand between you and these chewy cookies starting with a simple box cake mix.

You will need:

  • A box of yellow cake mix 
  • Eggs
  • Vegetable oil
  • Vanilla extract
  • Pastel M&Ms candies (or your favorite colors)
  • Semisweet chocolate chips

These really are the easiest cookies to make and so yummy warm out of the oven or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

How to Make Yellow Cake Mix Cookies

Start by combining the wet ingredients in a large bowl.

Kids may want to use an electric mixer, but a rubber spatular or spoon works just fine in this case.

Mix in your cake mix and gently fold in your chocolate chips and candies.

For best results, chill your cookie dough in the refrigerator for about an hour before baking.

Once the oven is preheated, scoop your cookie dough balls using a cookie scoop and place them on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet (a silicone mat works too!)

Bake until the edges are a nice golden brown pour yourself a glass of milk because you’re done and on your way to soft cookie bliss.

Cool cookies on a wire rack and store in an airtight container for up to 5 days at room temperature or freeze for 2-3 months. I doubt they will last that long though!

This yellow cake mix chocolate chip cookie recipe makes having freshly homemade chocolate chip cookies around so easy.

Total: 17 minutes
Yield: 24 cookies

Ingredients 

  • 1 15 oz box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Pastel M& M’s
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions 

  • In a medium mixing bowl combine the cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil.
  • Using a spatula or wooden spoon mix ingredients until batter forms.
  • Stir in the vanilla.
  • Fold in the M&M’s and Chocolate Chips until incorporated.
  • Let the dough chill in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
  • Roll cookie dough into 2 inch dough balls and place on cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 11-13 minutes until edges start to brown.

Notes

Store leftovers at room temperature in an airtight container.
