If you have ever enjoyed the sheer bliss that is a chocolate chip skillet cookie but don’t have a skillet, this recipe is for you.
Enjoy this easy pizookie recipe without making skillet servings for everyone by making it the air fryer. Yes, really!
Pizookie may be a strange name, but I don’t care what you call it. Pizza cookie? Skillet cookie? Giant cookie? As long as it’s warm and it’s mine, we’re good.
This easy recipe is big enough to share and you will feel like you are eating your favorite skillet chocolate chip cookie restaurant dessert with that warm gooey center that is oh so delicious.
My oldest son isn’t really a fan of cakes and cupcakes so whenever he gets to choose, a warm cookie is always high on the list.
You can make with just about any cookie dough. We love a classic chocolate chip cookie so that is what I’m going with for this easy dessert.
Try it with peanut butter cups, broken up chocolate bars or even colorful candies. And don’t forget the best part, scoops of vanilla ice cream and hot fudge on top!
This giant chocolate chip cookie is one of my favorite copycat recipes.

How to Make a Gooey Giant Cookie without a Skillet
The first part of this process is just like making a classic chocolate chip cookie recipe. Except, instead of a baking sheet or small cast iron skillets, we will be using an air fryer.
This recipe will make 4 pizookies. We make a half batch and one cookie is plenty for my family of four to share. Plus, we had one to snack on later!
Sure you can make cookies the old-fashioned way, but there is something special about this one. My kids keep asking to make it again!
Mix together Ingredients
First, using a stand mixer or hand mixer, combine the butter, brown sugar, and sugar in a large bowl.
Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, and then flour, baking soda, and salt.
TIP: Add the flour slowly or you will have a big mess on your hands.
Stir in chocolate chips.
In your springform pan, line the bottom with parchment paper and spray with oil.
Then, using the ice cream scooper, add 4 scoops of skillet cookie batter to the pan and press it down until the bottom of the pan is covered.
Cook in the air fryer until golden brown and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
A quick note, the baking time may vary based on the type of air fryer you have.
If you are using an Instant Pot/Air Fryer lid combo, I recommend adding the pressure cooker trivet in the bottom first and placing the pizookie on top so the air can get all the way around the pan.
If the cookie is too gooey in the center for your liking, either place it back in the air fryer or carefully remove it from the pan, flip it over and put back in for a few extra minutes of cooking time.
This also adds some nice crispy edges to the other side of the cookie.
Let sit and cool before adding toppings. You’ll be noshing on that delicious skillet cookie (without the skillet) in no time!
Want to go a step further and make your own ice cream? It’s easy!
How to Store Leftover No-Skillet Pizookie
Using an airtight container, you can store these cookies at room temperature for up to one week.
TIP: To keep cookies soft, try adding a slice of white bread to the bottom of the tub.
