Here’s what you need:
- ½ cup chocolate chips – you can use semi-sweet chocolate chips, dark or milk chocolate; whatever you like best.
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
You will also use a small heavy saucepan on the stovetop and a spoon for stirring. To store, be sure to have a jar with a lid or other airtight container so you can enjoy this chocolatey goodness whenever you want.
How to Make this Homemade Chocolate Sauce Recipe
In a small saucepan, add all ingredients and stir to combine over low heat.
Then, over medium heat, continue stirring constantly until chocolate chips are melted and the sauce is smooth.
Remove from heat, stir again and let cool slightly to room temperature.
Serve immediately or add to jar or container with lid store in refrigerator for up to 1 month.
To reheat, microwave for 30 seconds in a heatproof bowl. Stir and heat for an additional 10 seconds or longer if necessary.
