Easy Weeknight Chicken Parm Stromboli

Chicken Parm Stromboli makes a great weeknight dinner or easy meal after returning from a long trip. It’s cozy, filling, and a little different from the usual pizza night.

Using shelf or freezer ingredients like crispy chicken, gooey cheese, and seasoned dough, it’s a recipe you can keep ingredients for to grab whenever the mood strikes.

How to Make Chicken Parmesan Stromboli

Preheat your oven to 400°F.

Step 1: Bake frozen chicken strips and remove from baking sheet.

Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and unroll the pizza dough onto the pan. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and arrange them on one half of the dough.

Step 3/4: Top the chicken with pizza sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.

Step 5: Fold the other half of the dough over the filling, stretching gently if needed, and pinch the edges together to seal and brush melted butter over the top of the dough.

Step 6: Sprinkle with the remaining Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese and cut 4–5 small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.

Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

Let the stromboli rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Chicken Parm Stromboli uses simple ingredients like crispy chicken, shredded cheese, and seasoned dough making it the perfect easy dinner.

Ingredients 

  • 13.8 oz pizza crust, Pillsbury or similar
  • 6 frozen chicken strips
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning, divided
  • 1 tsp garlic powder, divided
  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese

Instructions 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Arrange chicken strips on a baking sheet and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Sprinkle half the Italian seasoning and half the garlic powder over the top of the strips. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until crispy, then remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.
  • When the chicken is finished baking, line the baking sheet with parchment paper and unroll the pizza dough onto the pan.
  • Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces and arrange along one half of the pizza dough.
  • Top the chicken with pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  • Fold the other half of the dough over the top of the toppings, stretching it as needed to reach across to the other edge. Pinch the edges together to seal the dough.
  • Brush melted butter over the top of the dough and top with remaining Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese.
  • Use a knife to cut four to five small slits in the top to vent.
  • Place the pan in the oven to bake for around 15 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
