  • Feel free to use your favorite rice cereal. I love the classic Rice Krispies but any brand is fine.
  • For even more chocolate, try adding white chocolate chips.
  • When mixing, add some freeze-dried strawberries for even more crunch and flavor.

How to make Strawberry Rice Krispies Treats

The method of cooking these treats is similar to classic Rice Krispie treats with the addition of some delicious strawberry Jello.

First, prepare an 8×8 inch pan by lining it with parchment paper. Spray the paper with non-stick spray or butter and set it aside.

Melt butter over medium heat in a large pot. Then add the bag of marshmallows and stir until smooth and melted.

Steps to make strawberry rice crispy treats

Remove the pan from heat and and using a rubber spatula, stir the strawberry gelatin powder until it dissolves into the melted marshmallows. ** I like to give it a little spray with cooking oil to make this easier.

Add the Rice Krispies cereal and stir until well mixed. Then let cool for about 10 minutes.

Stir in the additional 1 cup of mini marshmallows and mini chocolate chips.

mix in more marshmallows and mini chips

Press into the prepared pan in an even layer so the cereal mixture reaches the edges of the pan.

Place a sheet of wax paper on top to keep the mixture from sticking to your hands.

press into square pan and top with chocolate chips

Top with a few more mini chocolate chips or fresh strawberries if desired and allow to cool for another 1-2 hours.

Slice into squares and enjoy!
