Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make your own pumpkin pie spice:

  • Ground cinnamon
  • Nutmeg

  • Cloves

What’s the best way to make these less messy?

If you find that this delicious treat is a bit messy, there are a couple of things you can do to prevent this.

Use less pumpkin filling: These pumpkin pastry twists can become very messy if too much pumpkin mixture is spread between the layers of crescent roll sheets. Start with a very thin spread and increase until you have just the right amount so that when you twist them, the mixture doesn’t all fall out.

Twist the ends: Carefully twist each end two or three times in opposite directions while the piece of dough is laying on a clean counter or piece of parchment paper until it’s beautifully twisted.

Can I make these in an air fryer?

You can easily make pumpkin pie twists in an air fryer if you don’t have access to an oven or if you just like using this fun appliance.

Twist the crescent roll dough filled with the pumpkin pie filling and set them on a prepared baking sheet or in the basket of smaller air fryers.

Cook at 375 degrees F until they’re crispy and golden brown.

How to serve

Serve with whipped cream, cool whip, or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

These would be great on a holiday dessert table with apple pie bars, cranberry orange rolls, and pumpkin spice cookies!

How to store

On the counter: Keep these pumpkin roll twists in a large zip-top bag on the counter for up to three days.

Refrigerator: You can keep them fresh in the refrigerator for even longer, but the crust won’t be as crispy after a day. For best results reheat in the air fryer to crisp them back up.
